As a Senior Software Engineer, on the Eventing platform, you'll work on design and development within a collaborative team environment. Your role will be crucial for providing technical design and direction on event-driven initiatives. You will drive discussions on the best technical paths to build a centralized event bus architecture, considering scalability, replication, schema registries and pub/sub pipelines. 

 

You will contribute to our development life cycle to deliver new capabilities and coach team members. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders in an agile development environment.

What you will do:

  • Develop internal platforms that leverage event-driven architectures (EDA) and ensure code quality through reviews and testing.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to lead projects and drive cross-team initiatives.
  • Act as a technical lead, completing loosely defined epics that require technical discovery and decomposing outcomes into multiple software components. 
  • Advocate for EDA concepts and technical best practices, balancing tech debt and delivery.
  • Understand customer needs and business goals to inform technical decisions and project execution. 
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Improve critical systems and software, optimizing for quality and velocity. 
  • Strengthen the team by sharing knowledge and encouraging continuous improvement. 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
  • 2+ years’ hands-on experience preferred with full-stack web development, with experience in Client-Side Programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of a backend language such as .NET or Java.
  • Previous experience implementing Event Driven Architectures.
  • Solid understanding of modern REST API standards and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases.
  • Experience with unit testing and integration test automation.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills that enable collaboration with technical or business-centric peers.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with managing a large-scale SaaS production environment for availability, reliability, and resiliency 
  • Prior experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS (preferred) 

What success looks like

Senior Software Engineers are members of our product teams, responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting common features. Working side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business 

Stakeholders, they are actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an agile environment including technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, integration testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deploys and upgrades. 


They also work closely with DevOps, DBAs and Systems Engineers to make deployments easier to improve team velocity and overall quality of delivery. They design, develop and contribute to some of the most important functionality happening in the product category, and also mentor, coach and empower technical team members while still taking a very active role in developing solutions.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $146,189/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
