Position Overview

Reporting to the Solutions Consultant Manager, our Solutions Consultants (SCs) are a crucial part of Paylocity’s sales organization, driving a large portion of our revenue. In this position, SCs must have a passion for technology and service while partnering with their assigned Account Executives to win business together. The ideal SC is a self-motivated, collaborative, and persuasive individual whose primary responsibility is to uncover challenges prospective clients face while positioning Paylocity’s solutions to fill those needs. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates and assists with the first appointment, which allows the team to quantify the impact of the change and clearly align requirements, opportunities, and objectives from the customer. 
  • Performs discovery assessments to analyze an organization’s existing HCM environment, seeking opportunities to better address their needs and identify key areas of differentiation.  
  • Conducts an engaging, concise, and tailored product demonstration while tying back information learned in the analysis call to establish the buyer connection to help win the business. 
  • Responsible for in-depth knowledge of all of Paylocity’s suite of products.
  • Establishes credibility by communicating clear and detailed solutions to prospective clients regarding Paylocity products, processes, and timelines.
  • Identifies and documents prospect’s needs and coordinates with internal teams (e.g. custom programming, custom reports, integrations, etc.) to develop alternative solutions that can be presented to a prospect during the sales process.
  • Maintains/updates individual Salesforce data to stay current on various sales metrics.
  • Recommends helpful and creative ideas based on market, product, and competitive knowledge.
  • Assists Account Executives with some functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Participates at conferences, tradeshows, and other events.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in dealing with a field-based, fast-paced sales force.
  • Strong presentation skills over the phone, video, and occasional in-person presentations
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally both verbally and in written responses 
  • Possess analytical skills needed to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches 
  • 3 - 5+ years in a similar role or relevant industry experience
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% - 50% of working days (Level III)
  • College degree preferred, minimum high school diploma or equivalent

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $78,000 - $116,000/yr (depending on position level); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
