We are seeking a Director Business Development for Airbase Partnerships. This role reports into the Sr Director Corporate Development. 

  

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, develop and scale partnerships with financial institutions, ERP / accounting software providers (e.g. NetSuite, Xero, Sage Intacct), and players in the card ecosystem
  • Build a pipeline of high-impact opportunities and drive GTM coordination of these with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leverage a deep understanding of spend and expense management, payment card ecosystems, and ERP / accounting platforms to inform strategies and serve as subject matter expert on market trends, competitive landscape and best practices within the ecosystem
  • Manage all aspects of partnership lifecycle including partner recruitment, negotiation, contract drafting, execution and ongoing relationship management
  • Lead cross-functional teams including Product & Technology, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, Tax, Accounting and Legal to execute on strategic partnerships
  • Be a thought leader externally at industry events / conferences and internally in product roadmap discussions around integration capabilities by staying abreast of evolving partner ecosystem, and understanding client and partner priorities
  • Define scalable deal structures and provide coaching and support to business development managers to ensure best-in-class negotiation and partnership development capabilities
  • Drive partner revenue both directly and indirectly through support of sales and through development & expansion of partnerships
  • Build and lead a team of business development managers to drive execution that aligns with team and broader corporate strategy 
  • Track and understand key drivers of KPIs and P&L performance

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working for a high growth technology company with 5+ years in strategic or channel partnerships, business development or strategy role 
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited school (MBA preferred)
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively present to large or small groups
  • Proven ability to influence C-level executives and senior internal stakeholders and balance competing priorities between external partners and internal teams
  • Previous experience working with financial services partners, ERP and accounting platforms with deep understanding of partner ecosystems and proven ability to develop, scale and monetize partnerships 
  • Occasional travel to visit partners, attend meetings with key internal stakeholders, industry events and conferences

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $145,600 - 270,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
