Position Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director to lead the Technology Sales Consulting (TSC) team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HCM solutions and services, along with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in this domain. This leader will play an important role within our Sales Support Division, providing leadership and oversight to our TSC team. TSCs are an integral part of the company’s sales organization, working with current clients to help them better identify their business objectives and leverage Paylocity product sets for maximum results and efficiency. 

   

Primary Responsibilities  

Sales Leadership & Team Management: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of sales representatives, setting clear performance expectations, providing regular coaching, and ensuring professional development. 
  • Establish individual sales goals, KPIs, and performance benchmarks for team members to drive motivation and accountability. 
  • Teach and train Paylocity sales process to maximize your AE potential. 
  • Monitor sales activities and performance, providing guidance and support to overcome challenges and close deals. 
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review sales metrics, share updates, and foster collaboration. 
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop career progression plans for each sales team member. 

Sales Strategy & Execution: 

  • Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive sales strategies to drive growth in business. Define clear sales goals, performance metrics, and action plans to ensure success across all market segments. 
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation in the competitive landscape. 
  • Oversee complex contract negotiations and ensure the sales team has the necessary support and tools to close deals effectively. Participate in strategic sales negotiations for key accounts. 
  • Work alongside tech, solution consultants, and marketing to develop GTM campaigns and an understanding of target markets for new products.    
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their unique needs and proposing tailored solutions. 
  • Identify technology that will enhance our products and support our teams. 

Sales Operations & Reporting: 

  • Track sales performance and generate reports on individual and team results, sales forecasts, and key performance metrics. 
  • Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions. 
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and sales strategies. 
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance and market conditions. 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of inside sales experience  
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and motivating sales teams  
  • Excellent B2B sales and customer service, and customer retention experience  
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions. 
  • Knowledge of technology sales models, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations. 
  • Strong recruitment, development and retention experience  
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills  
  • Prior experience using a CRM system for client management  
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize workload  
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes and methodologies, and ability to understand sales mindset to create value proposition for quicker assimilation into work process  
  • Strong active listening skills to be able to uncover client needs and objectives  
  • Proficiency with the Internet and MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $89,100 - $165,500/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
