About the Team: 

The Benefits Setup teams are responsible for company benefits configurations and building a modern experience to allow new user bases to successfully input and manage benefits plans, premiums, and rules across 2 development teams.

The teams are comprised of motivated Engineers who have a high degree of collaboration, strong sense of ownership, and learn frequently to evolve and meet our shared vision. We also like to stay in the loop with new technologies by learning and experimenting. If that sounds like you, you've come to the right place! 


What you will do: 

  • Drive development on front-end application from design to launch across 2 different workstreams
  • Work in alignment with company mono-repo for our front-end applications
  • Be the technical owner for the team's capabilities and systems 
  • Be a trusted React subject matter expert for the team who is willing to lead by example 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to influence and translate business requirements to technical direction and component-based implementation plans 
  • Engage with platform teams working on front-end related libraries and the mono-repo to leverage reusable components and internal tooling to accelerate team velocity 
  • Uphold the bar for production service-level objectives and engineer towards operating at scale for our Benefits Setup domain 
  • Be a mentor and coach for junior team members 
  • Provide input to standards and prescribed design patterns for the larger tax organization 

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a similar technical field  
  • 7+ years of relevant experience 
  • Fluency in an enterprise-scale client-side framework, preferably React 
  • Experience developing component-based front-end applications and integrating with back-end APIs 
  • Hands-on experience designing and building resilient, scalable distributed backend systems for Enterprise scale 
  • Solid understanding of modern REST API standards and concepts 
  • Experience in designing API endpoints focused on interacting with a front-end application 
  • Experience with various automated testing methodologies and continuous release concepts like CI/CD and feature flagging 
  • Familiarity with Observability and Monitoring tools like Datadog or Kibana 
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills that enable collaboration with technical or business-centric peers 

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies 
  • Prior experience working with modern Engineering systems that deal with benefits data 

What Success looks like:

  • Addition of large capabilities to support the launch and incremental business logic improvements to our Benefits Setup application 
  • Uphold and raise the bar for usability and accessibility for all of the components within our application 
  • Prescribed architectural standards and design patterns for the larger organization to re-use 
  • Solid partnership with Platform teams for high re-use of Engineering capabilities 
  • Foster a culture of Engineering Excellence in the team

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $108,600 - $201,800/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.  This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
