Associate Product Managers are emerging leaders in Product Development and work with dedicated product teams to ensure that our products deliver against our customers’ unmet needs. They are responsible for collecting and analyzing a variety of data to help the product team determine what needs to be built and in what priority. They assist in developing and executing product vision and strategy, which includes conducting feature research, running discovery sessions, writing user stories, and owning the product backlog. They monitor the utilization of released functionality. They should be enthusiastic about creating vital functionality, innovating, and expanding our market-leading product suite. This position requires a commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for continuous improvement, and the ability to build strong relationships with a multi-discipline team.

- Product management is the function that guides every step of a product’s lifecycle — by focusing on the product and its customers first and foremost. Product Managers identify the most valuable problems to solve, enable their team to ship and iterate high-quality solutions quickly, and validate market impact. They leverage customer insights to deeply understand their problems, define the correct priorities and create a clear Product brief.

During the first six months at Paylocity, you will:
- Own and drive tactical execution of product and feature delivery, partnering with Design & Engineering to bring features to market
- Facilitate product and feature discovery process by collecting quantitative and qualitative data
- Autonomously drive product delivery process
- Execute research-oriented tasks with clear direction from leadership
- Lead product management for one opportunity
- Develop a strong knowledge of our customers, our business, our competition, and the industry
- Regularly communicate with customers (with support from Product Manager) and internal stakeholders to get feedback on their wants and needs
- Collect and analyze a variety of data (e.g. industry, competitive, customer and stakeholder feedback) and with guidance, identify key themes and validate assumptions regarding product features and proposed roadmap priorities
- Contribute to development and pressure testing of product vision and strategy
- Use data to validate product roadmap priorities
- Conduct roadmap feature research with product designers
- Help set up customer validation testing of designs and run discovery sessions
- Write user stories in a manner clearly understandable to product teams
- Present designs, data and decisions to Product Manager to help them prepare for product briefing and deep dives
- Participate in all agile ceremonies
- Work with the Group Product Manager to define vision and strategy for product's marketing launch plan and own assigned components of the plan
- Regularly monitor utilization of released functionality, sharing utilization data and trends with Product Manager to identify areas of opportunity and recommend ideas
- Own product backlogs and PDRs and provide impact analysis of client issues to determine priority
Required Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degrees in computer science, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or related quantitative business field.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a quantitative field supporting product analysis or business growth.
- Experience with implementing integrations (SFTP, API)
- Experience independently managing projects and relationships with stakeholders and vendors
- Comfort with understanding database structure and how data in different tables relate to each other.
- Experience with SQL.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel/Excel data package, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills:
- An aptitude for analyzing multiple data points and synthesizing them into meaningful insights.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to tell a story using data and insights.
- Experienced working and building strong alliances with data science and analytics teams.
- Enthusiasm in learning continuously and improvising based on that knowledge.
- Openness to studying the market as a point of consideration.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Mural, Miro, and Concept Board.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $89,400-$166,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
