Senior Software Engineer – Benefits Solutions
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Benefits Support team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our Benefits platform. This role is focused on resolving complex support tickets that require SQL scripting and C# development to correct data issues and improve system stability. Beyond troubleshooting, you’ll also identify and eliminate root causes, reducing recurring issues through automation and process improvements.
You’ll collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to ensure our systems remain reliable and scalable. If you enjoy problem-solving, optimizing databases, and driving automation, this role is for you.
What you’ll do
First Six Months:
· Gain deep knowledge of Benefits databases and software
· Develop and refine SQL scripts to correct data issues
· Investigate and resolve support tickets, identifying patterns to prevent future issues
· Contribute to system stability through automation and process improvements
· Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing input on best practices and technical decisions
· Mentor junior team members and collaborate across teams to enhance engineering standards
Ongoing Responsibilities:
· Troubleshoot and resolve production issues using SQL and C#
· Optimize system performance by identifying inefficiencies in queries and data structures
· Automate common fixes to reduce manual support efforts
· Contribute to development efforts when opportunities arise
· Improve monitoring and alerting to proactively detect potential failures
What You Bring:
· Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL and C# .NET
· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause resolution
· Experience working in support, production troubleshooting, or DevOps environments
· Ability to write efficient, scalable SQL queries and stored procedures
· Knowledge of performance tuning and database optimization
· Experience with unit testing and automation
· Ability to work independently while collaborating in an Agile environment
· Strong communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement
Nice to Have:
· Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
· Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools
· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $98,200 - $182,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
