Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, Paylocity

My journey with Paylocity began when my children were just twelve, eleven, seven, and five. After spending more than six years as a stay-at-home mom, I remember the heartache and uncertainty of trying to find a company that understood, really understood, what it means to be present for your family. I wasn’t just looking for a job; I was searching for a place that would honor my need to be there for my kids — for every scraped knee, school drop-off, and precious milestone. Now, they’re eighteen, seventeen, thirteen, and eleven, and Paylocity has been with me, supporting me through every joyful, messy, and unpredictable chapter of parenthood.

When my children were younger, Paylocity gave me something that can never be measured — time. The gift of remote work meant I didn’t have to rush out the door or miss a single tender moment. I could be there for all the little things; the things that make up a childhood. I could truly be present in their lives. And as they grew, their world grew, too. With extracurriculars, sports, and the countless defining moments of childhood, I never once had to worry about missing out. Paylocity didn’t just allow me to be there — they **ensured** I could be. Their flexible work schedule meant I was the face my children looked for in the crowd, whether it was a local game or an away meet hours from home. I knew the work would get done, and Paylocity trusted me to make it happen in a way that fit my life and my family’s needs.

Then in 2020, our world was shattered when my brother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer.  Suddenly, the word time took on a whole different meaning. I needed to be with him, to support his wife and their four young children during surgeries and treatments, and Paylocity gave me that gift. They allowed me to be by his side during his final months — moments filled with both heartbreak and love, moments that will stay with me forever. In those darkest times, Paylocity stood with me, giving me the freedom to be where I was needed most.

As my children took on new challenges, Paylocity showed me, yet again, how deeply they care. My son was awarded the Peter J. McGrail Scholarship, a tribute to our late Chief Financial Officer’s deep passion for education. That moment was a powerful reminder that Paylocity doesn’t just care about me as an employee — they care about my family, about our future, our dreams, and the things that matter most.

At every turn, Paylocity has stood by me. Over the past six years, they’ve been there through the highs and the lows, through milestones and challenges. They’ve always honored my role as a mom, empowering me to fully embrace both my family and my work. Because Paylocity knows, as I do, that if I couldn’t be fully there for my children, my work would never feel complete.

Every day, I share my story with candidates, hoping they can feel the depth of how Paylocity values not just our time, but the importance of being present for the ones we love most.

So, from one parent to another, I leave you with this: Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
