About the Team


The Money Movement Platform mission is to bring our payment experience under a single umbrella to enable modern treasury best practices, modern payment experiences, and quickly support new business opportunities. To enable this mission, our team is tasked with the development of a reusable platform that leverages cloud technologies, and to support our banking partners by developing advanced reporting capabilities to adhere to compliance requirements and industry-wide best practices.


What you will do

  • Drive development of large-scale distributed backend systems from design to launch
  • Ship customer value iteratively with emphasis on reliability and resiliency
  • Be the technical owner for the team's capabilities and systems
  • Be a trusted AWS subject matter expert for the team who is willing to lead by example
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to influence and translate business requirements to technical direction and data-driven implementation plans
  • Engage with sister teams to leverage reusable components and internal tooling to accelerate team velocity
  • Uphold the bar for production service-level objectives and engineer towards 10x operating scale for our Money Movement System
  • Be a mentor and coach for junior team members
  • Provide input to standards and prescribed design patterns for the larger payroll compliance organization

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a similar technical field
  • Fluency in C# .NET
  • Experience developing event-driven systems using capabilities like RabbitMQ, Mass Transit, AWS SQS & SNS
  • Hands-on experience designing and building resilient, scalable distributed backend systems for Enterprise scale
  • Solid understanding of modern REST API standards and concepts
  • Domain expertise in developing with AWS systems and capabilities
  • Hands-on experience using data-stores (relational or non-relational) at scale
  • Experience with various automated testing methodologies and continuous release concepts like CI/CD and feature flagging
  • Familiarity with Observability and Monitoring tools like Datadog or Kibana
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills that enable collaboration with technical or business-centric peers

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with product migration from data-center to cloud
  • Prior experience working with banking and ledger systems 

What Success looks like

  • Addition of large capabilities to support incremental business logic to our Money Movement Platform 
  • Operating scale for 10x traffic in production to support 200,000 concurrent user workflows
  • Uphold and raise the bar for reliability and performance to meet 99.9% or higher SLOs for golden signals
  • Prescribed architectural standards and design patterns for the larger organization to re-use
  • Solid partnership with Platform teams for high re-use of Engineering capabilities
  • Foster a culture of Engineering Excellence in the team

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $92,936 - $201,701/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.  This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
