Position Overview
This role is responsible for delivering technical expertise throughout the sales process. You will support both internal and external stakeholders by demonstrating Paylocity’s technical solutions and value, managing technical inquiries, and helping prospective clients understand how our cloud-based software integrates into their business workflows. This role focuses on showcasing the value of Paylocity’s IT and HCM products and works closely with Sales to ensure prospects successfully evaluate and adopt our solutions.

- Collaborate with the Sales team to support prospects during their evaluation of Paylocity's solutions by providing technical expertise.
- Understand the unique technical requirements of prospective clients and clearly convey the business value of Paylocity’s product offerings.
- Lead technical demonstrations on security, system architecture, integrations, and product roadmap and philosophy to show how Paylocity’s solutions meet client needs.
- Maintain and present technical content to ensure customer success and satisfaction with Paylocity’s IT Cloud and HCM platforms.
- Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, etc.) to deliver feedback on customer needs and help shape the product roadmap.
- Become a product expert across Paylocity’s platform and stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape.
Knowledge and Application:
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to real-world business challenges, providing solutions that align with Paylocity’s strategic objectives.
- Expertise in cloud architecture, integration platforms, and APIs to design and demonstrate solutions that meet the needs of enterprise customers.
- Ability to translate client requirements into actionable product solutions, contributing to department and team goals.
- Strong understanding of SaaS, Identity & Access Management, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
Complexity and Problem Solving:
- Ability to break down complex technical problems, develop solutions, and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
- Assess and manage risks related to IT systems and integration while ensuring optimal solutions for client business needs.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and aligned with the overall business strategy.
Discretion and Impact:
- Autonomously make decisions based on technical knowledge and customer insights to drive successful outcomes in pre-sales engagements.
- Contribute to decision-making processes within cross-functional teams, ensuring that client requirements are met, and solutions are delivered with impact.
Collaboration and Interaction:
- Regularly collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to provide technical guidance and ensure alignment on product solutions.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from technical professionals to senior executives, to demonstrate product value and drive success.
- Influence key stakeholders in the decision-making process, adapting to changes in business objectives and goals.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a pre-sales, IT consulting, or solutions engineering role, preferably within the human capital management (HCM) or IT sectors.
- Strong technical background in SaaS, Identity & Access Management, Mobile Device Management, and cloud architectures.
- Relevant IT certifications preferred.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience in enterprise software and familiarity with competitive landscapes.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $128,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a variable commission plan and an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
