E-verify SSA TNC Process Update

March 08, 2021

Effective March 4, 2021 employees who receive an E-verify SSA TNC for a citizenship mismatch may contact the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

E-Verify Updates the SSA TNC Process

Due to Social Security Administration (SSA) office closures as a result of COVID-19, E-verify announced that effective March 4, 2021 employees who receive a SSA TNC with a citizenship mismatch may contact the DHS to resolve their cases instead of visiting an SSA Field Office. If DHS is able to resolve the TNC, employees are not required to visit an SSA field office.

Additional information about SSA and DHS TNC’s can be found on the E-verify website. Employers can also review the temporary policies related to E-verify extensions here and other COVID-19 temporary policies here.
