Security Alert: Fake Paylocity Links in Search Sites

January 08, 2025

Cybercriminals are exploiting search engines to trick unsuspecting users into revealing sensitive information.
Blog Post

Cybercriminals are now using search engines like Bing and Google to trick unsuspecting users into giving up login credentials. Fraudulent ads are popping up in search results on popular sites. These ads appear to be legitimate websites but are actually malicious sites designed to steal financial and personal information.

To protect your Paylocity account:

  • Use the following link to log in to Paylocity and bookmark it for future use: https://access.paylocity.com/ or download the Paylocity app from your app store.
  • If you must use a search engine to log in to any website, hover over the link and carefully review the website URL for accuracy before clicking.
  • Contact us immediately if you think you clicked on a fraudulent Paylocity link or your account may have been compromised. If you’re not a company administrator, contact your employer for assistance.

Additional best security practices:

  • Don’t share your login credentials with others.
  • Use multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access your accounts and help prevent bad actors from accessing them.
    • Paylocity has activated MFA for our clients’ company administrators.
    • Administrators can add an extra layer of security by activating MFA for all employees within their company to help block unauthorized access to their Paylocity accounts.
  • Always log out of Paylocity and close your browser when you’ve completed your desired actions.
