Short-Term Funding Agreement
Earlier this afternoon President Trump announced that a short-term deal has been reached to end the shutdown and reopen the federal government. The Senate and House have passed the short-term funding bill and President Trump signed it late Friday evening.
The temporary agreement reopens the government for three weeks, until February 15. During this three-week period, Congress will continue negotiations on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations.
The agreement passed today reopens all government agencies, allowing federal employees to go back to work and ensures they will receive back-pay.
Next Steps
Federal government agencies will resume normal operations and it is expected that employers with be able to utilize the E-Verify system again to verify new hires. Paylocity will continue to monitor Congress’ continuing activities on the spending bill negotiations over the coming weeks and will provide further updates as needed.
