At A Glance
The Kentucky Department of Revenue couldn't process tax filings between February 26 and March 14, 2025, while they migrated to a new tax filing portal. As a result, employers may receive automated penalty notices for late filing of returns and payments submitted during that time.
Overview
Between February 26 and March 14, 2025, the Kentucky Department of Revenue underwent a blackout period while it migrated to the new MyTaxes Portal. The agency will issue assessment notices for filings or payments received but not processed during this period. However, if they receive a request for a waiver, the agency will waive any assessment incurred during the blackout period
Next Steps
Employers who receive an assessment notice due to this situation should contact the Kentucky Department of Revenue for instruction on requesting a penalty waiver.
